REID, Vivian Marguerite (nee Barrington) At the Peter D. Clark Centre, on Sunday, September 16, 2007. Beloved wife of James Reid. Very special thanks to the kind and caring staff of the Peter D. Clark Centre, devoted caregivers Judy, Louise and Marguerite and to Anne for her many kindnesses. Vivian loved the companionship she enjoyed with Nancy and Lou Liuzzo and Ian and Norma Syme. Vivian had a rewarding career as a teacher - a profession she loved. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Road) on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. Condolences and tributes may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com

I remember Vivian as the "visiting" French Teacher at Hawthorn School so long ago. This would be in the late sixties. She did amazing things. I remember she mentioned, one day in a chat in the staff room, that she had gone home after school and painted the living room. I couldn't believe how she found the energy to do such an activity. She was so attractive with her red hair. She mention that there was a gas station near her home which she didn't appreciate but had to live with it. She impress me because she was oneof the first teachers to realize and comment on the fact that there would be cut backs in the Ottawa Board of Education because each year the spending increaced and seemed to be out of control. Many years later I was one of those cut backs and I remembered Vivian's comment. She was a wonderful lady. God Bless her.

Hi Mr. Reid: I am so sorry to hear of Vivian's passing. On the few times we were together, I remember Vivian as a warm and gracious woman devoted to you and to her teaching career. No doubt you will miss her, but she is now in a better place. God Bless
