Like her family, I was deeply saddened by Viviana´s passing. As godfather of her niece, Rebecca, I considered Viviana "familia." Thankfully we were able to visit in San Antonio just before the onset of the pandemic and before health issues challenged her daily life. We spent the two days exploring Fredericksburg and dining in San Antonio with her extended family members, Nicolas and Azucena. As always, she was generous with her time and the perfect host. I send my deepest sympathies to Gabriela and Celina, and the rest of the Valdez clan. Philip Garcia Friend

My sincere condolances to the entire Valdez family. I lost someone I always considered my other sister. Having grown up with the Valdez family for the past almost 50 years, I could think of her in no other way. May God bless her and may she now rest at ease. May the rest of the family find peace also.

Viviana holds such a special place in my Cajun heart. We laughed a lot at how different people and cultures are. But,often, they are the same.
Viviana and I were the same in that we both spoke English, and always wanted only happiness for those around us. I will always love and remember you my dear Viviana.

I went to graduate school with Viviana at UTSA. We had a couple of study groups at her home. I recall her oldest daughter. She was so proud of her. We would sometimes see each other at teacher meetings at SAISD. Viviana was always cheerful and friendly. She was a very beautiful lady, inside and out. I am really sadden to hear of her passing.
