Vonnie Jean Raffenbeul

Raffenbeul, Vonnie Jean age 71, of Minneapolis, died at home surrounded by her family on May 13, 2007 after a courageous battle with C.O.P.D. Preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son. Vonnie was a loving wife and mother who was truly devoted to her family and friends. She was born on Sept. 5, 1935 to Eric and Mable (Tvinnereim) Hanson. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt, Class of ‘53. She was proud of her Scandinavian heritage and of sharing and passing down those traditions. Her adventurous spirit, sense of humor and twinkling brown eyes brought warmth to any room. Vonnie was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was taken home in His loving arms, but will always remain a blessing and a joy in so many hearts. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joel W. Raffenbeul; daughter, Susan (Jeffrey) Burke; son, John (Sadie) Raffenbeul; brother, Wayne; and her four grandchildren, Heather, Autumn, Jack and Sam. The family gives thanks to all those who prayed for Vonnie's well being and gives a special thanks to the staff at Fairview Hospice. Visitation Wednesday, May 16 from 5 to 8 PM at Washburn-McReavy Strobeck Johnson Chapel, 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins. Funeral service Thursday, May 17 at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington.
