Miriam Alvarez

Miriam Alvarez, 96, died June 21, 2013, at Treasure Coast Hospice. She was born in Santa Clara, Cuba, and lived in Fort Pierce and Hollywood. She was a retired social worker and held a bachelor's degree. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hollywood. Survivors include her daughter, Mimi Tuschinski; brother, Richard Mesa; sister, Cira Mesa Garcia; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Roque Alvarez; brothers, John Mesa, Stephen Mesa, and Fernando Mesa; and sisters, Dolores Hernandez and Julia Mora. Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. June 28 at Yates Funeral Home and Crematory Fort Pierce Chapel with a service at 6 p.m. with the Rev. David Hart officiating.
