Wade Henderson Crawford

                FLORENCE - Wade Henderson Crawford, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

                Wade was born in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of Gary W. and Rebecca H. Crawford. He was a 1991 graduate of South Florence High School where he served as captain of the golf team and attended Francis Marion College. For several years in his youth, Wade crisscrossed the United States as a caddie on the Nike Gold Tour. He loved telling stories of his nomadic experiences as a caddie to his fellow golfers at Florence Country Club. He often dwelt among the untrodden ways and his revelations brought joy and laughter to those who knew him. Everyone who knew Wade had a “Wade” story. He was an unforgettable character and was known for his infectious smile and enormous heart.

                Wade was an avid Gamecock fan and loved tailgating and attending the games with his family. He loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends and always welcomed strangers to his table. Hosting gatherings and serving guests brought him great joy. At the time of his death, he was a sales consultant for Taluspay, a payment processing business.

                He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Wright Crawford, his parents, his in-laws, Danny, Gail and Paula Wright, all of Florence; two sisters, Mary Beth Knobel (Carter) of Anderson and Shelly C. Walker (John) of Greenville; and five nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, Crawford, Burns and Hall Knobel, and John and Caroline Walker.

                A funeral service celebrating Wade’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 in the chapel of Waters-Powell Funeral Home, followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
