CLEVELAND — Wade Alan King, 59, of Wellington, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at University Hospital in Cleveland. On Nov. 13, 1956, Wade was born in Lakewood to Dale and Joan (nee Thomas) King. He graduated from Wyoming High School in Cincinnati and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University.
Mr. King taught history and geography at Keystone High School for 32 years. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles Aerie 2051 and the Wellington VFW Post 6941. In his spare time, Wade enjoyed golfing and playing pool with friends. In true Buckeye fashion, he enjoyed making many memories at the horseshoe. A lover of life, laughter, and adventure, he mostly treasured time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Laurie (nee Sieving) King; children Paul King of Washington, D.C., Rebecca King of San Jose, Calif., and Christy King of Columbus; his mother, Joan King of Columbus; brothers Glen (Maggie) King of Toledo and Dan King of Columbus; and nephews and niece, Kyle, Connor, Ashley, and Davis. Wade was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Andrew King; and his father, Dale.
A celebration of life will be held at the Wellington Eagles, 631 South Main St., on Thursday, March 24 from 6-8 p.m. A private burial will take place at Brighton Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wade's memory may be directed to the Wade King Memorial Scholarship established at Fifth Third Bank. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home of Wellington handled arrangements. With truth and love in my heart I can say that Laurie and Wade had a very real and committed love story. The way they planned every day of their life together was truly magnificent. Laurie had shared with me the values they taught their children. His life with his wife and children was a true treasure. Kathy Newcomb.

I met Wade through his wonderful wife as they both started their teaching careers. I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in their wedding. I can still remember all the fun of the wedding events. I was always impressed as their children grew up to read about their success in the Wellington paper. He was a wonderful husband, father, and teacher. It is an honor to know Laurie all these years after that wedding. Their love for each other is one of the most meaningful relationships I have even known about. With love and respect. Kathy Newcomb

Dear Laurie and Family,
What amazing tributes people have written about your husband and Dad. The impact he had on the children he taught will grow exponentially over the generations. May you find peace in knowing he fulfilled his purpose on this earth.
