Walter Garcia Obituary
Walter "Mike" Garcia, 74, of Woodland, died Nov. 18 at Woodland Memorial Hospital.
He attended Willow Springs-Plainfield School. "Mike" was in the US Army from 1960-1963 and received an achievement trophy from Ft. Ord for Marksmanship in sharp shooting. He was employed as a Warehouse Supervisor for 37 years at Spreckels Sugar Company. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited.
Preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Christa R. Garcia; daughter, Janet (Rick) Cross of Utah; son, Kenneth Garcia, girlfriend Cathy Reis of Sacramento; grandchildren, Brandy (Joshua) Wagner, Michael Cross of Utah; great grandchildren Bailey, Chloe, Connor, Mason and one due in April 2015.
Rosary will be held, Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Edward Kull officiating. There will be a VA Ceremony, Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, Dixon. Private Inurnment.

I'm very sorry to hear of Mike's passing.
We grew up together on the ranch on road 98. I have fond memories of those times. Please accept our deepest sympathies and rejoice in the fact that Mike is in a truly better place.
