Walter Timothy Saunders “Tool Man Tim”, 66, of Carrollton, Virginia entered eternal rest on December 21, 2021. Tim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Catherine, son, Timothy Saunders, daughter, Lora Arthur (Henry) grandsons Brayson, Ben, Arthur and Sawyer, brother Arthur Saunders Jr. (Gerry), sisters Paulette Smith (Mike) and Lineta Witherow as well as 7 nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Saunders Sr. and his mother Ida Anderson. In life, Tim was the kind of man that would help whoever he could, however he could, wherever he could. His greatest joys were his four grandsons and being out on the water. He will forever be a beloved husband, father, granddaddy, brother, son, uncle and friend to all those that were fortunate enough to know him. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 2 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow on the Latimer Farm Cemetery, Carrollton, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.

So this morning I woke up at 5am with a memory of Tim, just out of the blue. I posted on FB and asked if my friends remembered when Tim took us on his boat for senior year. He was our manager at Wendy's in Suffolk. As my friends started chiming in and we shared our memories of our time at Wendy's around 1994/5 and our graduation year 2000, we wondered where Tim was. It saddens me that I didn't have this memory sooner and learned that he had passed. Tim was such a nice guy. I know he was often sick of all of us girls in Wendy's but we had such good times. Like I said I wish I would have had this memory earlier so that the gang could have come to visit. I will never forget Tim ♥ RIP

This hurt me to the core. He was my mentor, my friend and most of all he was like a father. Him and his family treated me like family. The last words that was shared between us was him telling me that he love me and me replying I love you too talk to you soon not knowing that will be the last time I would talk to him. Momma Cathy, Ryan,Lora and grandkids stay strong and if there's anything I can do I will be right there. Sorry for your loss.
