Abilene, TX
Wanda Janel Puckett, 76, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, in Abilene. Services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anson. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Jones County, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home of Anson.
Born July 26, 1941 in Anson, Wanda was a daughter of the late Clint and Lula (West) Brandon. She graduated from Anson High School in 1959 and Texas Woman's University in 1963. Wanda married Kenneth Puckett on November 28, 1969 in Anson. Wanda was a school librarian in Eunice, New Mexico, Eatontown, New Jersey, Winters and Anson. She retired from the Anson Independent School District in 2002.
In 2007, Wanda moved from Anson to Abilene where she was a member of the Wylie Baptist Church. She loved her church family. Wanda was an avid reader and loved her dog Keiko.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Kenneth Puckett), one daughter (Janel Lee Puckett) and one brother (Jackie S. Brandon).
Survivors include her sister, Linda Brandon of Abilene; three step daughters, Debbie Puckett, Carmen Dykes and Jeanmarie Buckelew; cousins, Bobbie Buckanan (and husband, Glynn), Judy Brandon Thomas, Mike Brandon and Robert Brandon.
Family visitation will be 6:00PM to 7:30PM Monday, February 5, 2018 at Adams-Graham Funeral Home of Anson.
The family request that memorials be made to Wylie Baptist Church, 6097 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX 79606.
