R. Allen Taylor Jr.
"Loving Husband and Father"
Robert Allen Taylor Jr., 77, passed away November 27, 2011, at home with his loving wife by his side, in West Valley City, Utah.
Born March 12, 1934 in Richfield, Utah, son of Robert Allen Taylor Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Peterson. Married his high school sweetheart, Pharise Louise Christensen, August 20, 1955; solemnized January, 1965 in the Manti LDS Temple. A veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Retired from Hercules (ATK) after 34 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, road trips with his wife, and spending time with family. He had a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He held various church callings including membership clerk, a two year work mission, and years of temple service.
Survived by wife, Louise; children: Bruce (Tammy) Taylor; Cindy (Dennis) Hauser, Craig (Lisa) Taylor, Sheila (Charles) Moore; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Oldroyd, Betty Anderson and Bobby Hooper. Preceded in death by parents; son, Tony Allen; eight sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan North 4th Ward, 4270 South Falcon Street (4145 W.). Viewings will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
