Warren Privott Obituary
SANFORD - Warren Winborne Privott, 54, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 24, 2015, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on December 13, 1960 to John W. and Clara C. Privott. He was predeceased by his father John W. Privott and an infant brother David Privott. Warren was a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in English. After college, he worked at Belk as a manager for 19 years in several locations in eastern North Carolina. In 2002 he relocated with his family to Boone, North Carolina to begin his career with Mutual Distributing Company as a sales representative.
Warren was an active participant in Revolutionary War reenactments throughout the eastern United States and was a former board member of the Southern Appalachian Historical Association that produces Horne in the West in Boone, North Carolina.
He will be remembered for his love for people and for the positive impact he had on many lives. His wide circle of friends will miss his zest for life and his constant concern for their well-being.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Joseph David Privott of Williamsburg, Virginia; brothers, Cameron and wife Margaret Privott of Rocky Mount, NC, Robert and Jackie Privott of Sanford, NC and seven nephews and nieces; Cameron, Thomas, Emily, Brittany, Alexander, John David and Seth and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was married for 28 years to the former Jill Gaffney of Boone, NC. His large, close family will especially miss his caring personality and his wonderful sense of humor.
A service of celebration will be conducted at White Hill Presbyterian Church 3301 White Hill Road, Sanford, NC on Wednesday at 11:00 o'clock. Interment will precede the funeral. The family will receive friends at the fellowship hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter, 4 Blount Street, Suite 200, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601, www.CatfishChapter.org.

So sad to learn of Warren's passing, especially at such a young age. I remember him from when Cameron and I were boys, tagging along and wanting to be involved in everything we did. He was a great guy. Please accept my heart-felt condolences on his loss.

My condolences to Warren's family and friends. Warren was a teammate of mine on the Rocky Mount Jaycee's Jr. football team back in the mid 1970s. He was an all around great guy and I am really sorry to hear of his passing.
