Warren Rollins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
Warren Fanshaw Rollins III, "Buster" born on December 11, 1938, in Decatur, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 86.

Warren was preceded in death by the "love of his life", his beloved wife, Brenda Whitehurst Rollins; his parents, Warren "Doc" Fanshaw Rollins Jr. and Lois Darrington Rollins; and his sisters, Carol Anne Harrison and Ethel Carrie. He is survived by his daughters, Kim Dometrovich (Ron) and Jennifer Miller (Israel), as well as his cherished granddaughter, Edith Miller; brother-in-law, Gene Harrison, and Warren's nieces, Dawn Melin (Johnny), Ansley Evans (Michael) and Shelley Henslee (Will), and their children.

A proud graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, Warren built a successful career with CIT Group, where he worked for many years before retiring. Beyond his professional life, Warren was a man of many passions. Possessed of a keen intellect, he loved studying his family geneaology, and was proud of the fact that he lived longer than any of the men in his family line. He was an expert restorer of Ford Model Ts, dedicating countless hours to preserving these iconic vehicles. A lover of history, he enjoyed delving into the past and sharing his knowledge with others. Warren also had a deep appreciation for classic blues music and formed connections with many of the legendary blues musicians in the Atlanta area. These passions were exceeded only by his love for and dedication to his family. A gifted conversationist, Warren had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always smiling and laughing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 25, 2025, at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 9919 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee. For those unable to attend in person, a live broadcast will be available.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Model T Museum in Richmond, Indiana.

Warren's legacy of curiosity, Model Ts, and love for the blues will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.

Warren was an awesome guy! I worked on his and Brenda's house for 20+- years and enjoyed knowing them both! Warren and I talked about his cars and growing up in Georgia. I'll miss them. Praying for the family
