Warren W. "Pete" Russell

Services for Warren W. "Pete" Russell, 82, of Diboll, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Russell was born October 14, 1933 in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Velma (Weaver) and Warren William Russell. He passed away May 28, 2016 in Corrigan. He was a loving husband, son, father and grandfather. He was a 1952 graduate of Diboll High School. He was the owner of Little "D" TV in Diboll. He was an ordained Missionary Baptist deacon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and taking care of his little animals and plants. He loved his dog "Max". Since he retired, he spent more time with his family. He served his country in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Russell of Diboll; daughters, Vickie Russell of Wichita Falls, Sally Russell and Troi Russell, both of Diboll; son, Timothy W. Russell and wife Samantha of Apple Springs; granddaughters, Elizabeth Russell and Isabella Russell; sister, Othal Lowery of Huntington; sister-in-law, Imogene Russell of Gun Barrel City; brother-in-law, Robert Dixon and wife Bennie of Gladewater; sister-in-law, Arlene Greer of Hallsville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.D. Russell; and brothers-in-law, Lester Lowery and Rudolph Greer. Pallbearers will be Mark Lowery, Brandon Bozeman, Walter Terrell, Douglas Greer, Steve Pina and Allen Bacon. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Lowery, Greg Weaver, Bill Dixon, Richard Greer, Randy Greer, Jimmy Russell, and his former employees of Little "D" TV.
