Wayne Cummings Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2025.
Wayne Richard Cummings Jr., 67, passed away on September 24, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on December 10, 1957, in Syracuse, New York, Wayne lived a life marked by vibrant color, heartfelt music, and deep connections with those he loved.

Wayne was the beloved father of Mandi and father-in-law to Jeffrey. He shared a meaningful partnership with Sarah and found immense joy in his role as grandfather to Abigail, McKenna, and Austin. His family circle also included his stepmother Eleanor, sister Desiree, brother Tom, and many cherished nieces. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Cummings Sr., and his mother, Barbara Clifford.

A man of unmistakable style and spirit, Wayne had a passion for tie-dye that reflected his colorful personality. Music played a central role in his life-he especially loved listening to Nickelback-and he found peace and happiness swimming with his grandchildren. These simple pleasures brought him closer to those around him and created lasting memories for his family.

Wayne's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and continue to inspire joy through the colors he wore and the songs he cherished.

Uncle Wayne,

If it was anything I will always remember about you is your cooking and your love of music. I used to laugh because all the cloths or things you bought me growing up was alwags tie-dyed and I never wore it. I called you old a lot. Lol! You'd laugh and laugh and say yeah yeah. Every time we left the house or hung up the phone, you never said goodbye. You always said, "See ya, see ya, niece." I hope you're hugging grams up there and seeing your old man. Rest in peace. Mandi knows she will always have me and my family if she ever needed us. She will be okay. <3

My dearest Wayne
You were always the one that fixed the pictures posted everything I never had to worry about saying anything because you always were posting about us all the time and our family and different things with your family. So here I am lost for words, lost how to figure out how to live life without you. No matter whatever was going on with us we were always together my body and soul. You always told me you were the love of your life and you were the love of my life these pictures you took at different times. I took the one of you when we went down for our first Christmas lane parade it was awesome. I know that you are in a much better place. You fought so hard with your disease right up to the end and I love you that you fought for life. You have given me a strength in life you gave me the courage to take life by the balls as you said and stand up for myself and you always told me we would be stronger together and we would always be stronger apart. I´m gonna hold those thoughts. Love you Love you see you on the other side, my love.
