GUNCKLE, Wayne Morris, D.O. of Macomb, MI. Dedicated husband, loving father, and respected surgeon, born in Germantown, OH December 28, 1947; passed away March 27, 2011. Beloved husband of Lynda Donaldson. Loving father of Erin (Mike) Debri, Holli (Matt) Olejarczyk, Lindsay (Casey) Kandow, Adam (Jenny) Gunckle, and step-father of Brad Lewis. Proud and loving grandfather of 6.5. Dear brother of Eric and Kevin Gunckle. Dr. Gunckle had a true love for medicine and his patients became his family. He was a dedicated leader, including past Chair of the MCRMC Orthopedics Department and serving as Program Director of the Orthopedic Residency program for more than 20 years. He was also Past President of the AOAO (2001-2002), and well known in the community for serving as the team doctor for CVHS and Fraser High School football teams for more than 20 years. Aside from his unconditional love for his family and his devotion to medicine, his passion was OSU, golf, golf, and more golf. Visitation Thursday 4-9pm and Friday 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Twp.), 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. Instate Saturday 9am until time of 10am funeral at Grace Christian Church, 33801 Van Dyke (just N. of 14 Mile Rd.). Following the funeral, Dr. Gunckle's body will be donated to Wayne State University to further the cause of education. In lieu of flowers, Mount Clemens Regional Health Care Foundation 1000 Harrington Blvd., Mt. Clemens, MI 48043 (Please make checks payable to MCRH with Dr. Gunckle's name in memo line.
