Wayne T. Falby, 65, of Brockton, MA died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA, from head injuries suffered in a fall. Wayne was born on March 26, 1959, in Lake Forest, Illinois to Carolyn B. Falby, now 92 and a resident of Merdith, NH, and the late Clifford W. Falby. Wayne grew up in Sharon, Massachusetts, attending Sharon public schools including Sharon High School, where he was a member of the band and graduated in 1977. Wayne attended Barrington College in Rhode Island, from which he received his Bachelor's degree in 1981.

Wayne worked for over thirty years as a dedicated employee of Shaw's Supermarket in Brockton, where he was a familiar figure to many in the community. Wayne was a talented pianist, playing entirely by ear. He had a wicked sense of humor and enjoyed writing and telling jokes and parodies. Wayne was a loving and loyal son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother Vern Falby and partner Zorina Galis of Bethesda, MD; his brother Bruce Falby and wife Nancy Isikoff of Holderness, NH; his nephews Ben, Jack, Mac, Cam, Jake, and Dan Falby and niece Anna Falby; and his dear friends Lisa Nickerson and David Offutt, both of Brockton.

Relatives, friends and Wayne's community are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the House of Prayer #5 Apostolic Church, 848 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301, with reception to follow at the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the House of Prayer #5 Apostolic Church.

I was Wayne's sister-in-law for many years. He was a unique individual and had an amazing natural gift for music. His favorite song? O, Freedom! I'm guessing he was singing this in full voice on his way Home.

My condolences to the family. To add to John Zuis's post.; I also rememember that he wrote a Christmas song tittled Why in the Sky, and another one called Take the Hand of Your Brother. I believe that one of his favorite things to do was scat sing with his brothers. Again , my deepest condolences to all of the Falbys.

Wayne had quite a musical talent, There are a couple of aspects of it I´m not sure how many people outside of his family are aware of and to what degree.

He had an incredible ear, he could discern intervals between notes ( where they fall in the scale ) and effortlessly transpose ( play a tune in different keys). I´ve seen him after hearing an unfamiliar tune, go to a piano & work out how to play the tune with his right hand, then work out an accompaniment with his left hand, being able to play it in a short time. I suspect he wasn´t too far from having perfect pitch.

Also another aspect of his ability is since because of his handicap, he couldn´t play the way someone without a handicap could, but he developed his own way to play, like the Jazz guitarist Django Reinhart did. He did it so well many folks just didn´t realize .

He also did some composing. His " Song of peace ", " Anytime, anyplace , anywhere" and " I am yours, you are mine" are a few things he did and were actually pretty good.

I'm one of Wayne's former classmates from high school. I was so sorry to hear this and my condolences to his family. I remember him well, he did have a great sense of humor and I remember him being in the band as a gifted musician. He had a great attitude and was a great example to our class. Again, my deepest condolences. Iris Smith
