Wayne LaCroix Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 23, 2011.
Wayne LaCroix, 60, lost his battle to cancer on March 22, 2011 at his home
in Pasadena, Texas. He was born to Betty and Collins LaCroix in Lufkin, TX,
June 7, 1950. He married Annette Bass from Pasadena, TX on July 10, 1971.
They shared a loving marriage for 39 years.

Wayne is survived by his wife Annette, sons, Brandon and wife Karen,
and Adam, grand-daughters Maggie and Ally, sisters, Cheryl and husband
Larry, Sheila and husband Drew, and Teresa. He was preceded in death by
his parents Betty and Collins, brother Ronnie, and nephew Lee.
He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He graduated from South Houston High School in Houston, TX in 1969 and
shortly thereafter served in the Marine Corp from 1970 thru 1976. He was
stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina at New River Marine Air Station
where he and his wife lived for two years then moved to Hawaii for the next
three years. There they began their family with the birth of both of their sons.
After his discharge from the Marines, Wayne moved his family back
to Pasadena, TX where they have resided for the last 27 years.

In addition to being a loving father and grandfather, he had a successful career
working in the Wholesale Plumbing Industry for over 40 years, spending the
last 15 years with Home Depot.

He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and warm personality. He never met a stranger and was always eager to help someone out with whatever they needed. His faith in God truly guided him through the toughest times as he battled cancer, never giving up. Truly an inspiration to us all. Wayne will be missed by all whose lives were touched by him.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the League City United Methodist Church.

Mr. LaCroix will terribly be missed. He had a catching smile and a heart of gold. Heaven has added an extra Angel to it's collection. May the Lord continue to be with you and your family.

I was very saddened to hear about Wayne's passing. He was someone that really lived every day to the fullest. While I know that words are only a small gesture of support, I want you to know that his spirit has touched many people's lives as it has mine. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love always,

Wayne was truly a great friend and a very inspirational father figure whom I always looked up to and thought about from time to time. Whenever I had questions about the many challenges life had to offer, he always had a good solid answer with a wonderful "smile." His advice was always true and from the heart. As a young boy growing up, we shared laughs many times, in times that were a bit more of a challenge. When serving as a soldier, and the many challenges I faced, both on and off the battlefield, his advice always pointed me in the proper direction. Wayne was a wonderful man and a very faithful friend, he truly was semper fidelis (always faithful) at everything he did in life. I had the opportunity to visit with him recently, and once again, with that wonderful smile of his, we shared in the laughter of those memories together, and when I walked away, I knew from within my own heart the level of his happiness here with us. God Bless and thank you very much for everything Wayne. I will miss you so much.

Wayne was a dear friend from High School. He was always there when one needed him. I'm sure this followed him in his adult life too. You will be missed my friend...Peggy Burgins Brandin

Wayne was a brother and a friend. We did some growing up together that will always be a part of my life and I was honored when he called about his decision to say goodbye. My heart goes out to all of you. He lived for his family and expressed that to me in so many ways, especially after losing Betty and Collins, during our last several visits. I also know he was prepared to be with the lord, so be comforted, as he now sits beside him, this I believe with all my heart. God bless all of you.
