Wayne F. Prescott

Wayne F. Prescott, 69, passed away peacefully Monday, May 15, 2017 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH after a long illness. He was born February 22, 1948; he was the son of Ernest and Dorothy Prescott of Newton, MA. Wayne was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1968 | 1972. He served as a Military Policeman. A year of his service was spent in Vietnam and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star. Wayne was employed by the City of Newton, MA for 34 years as a heavy equipment operator. After his retirement in 2009, he enjoyed fishing and boating on Ossipee Lake in Ossipee, NH and visiting with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Karen Prescott, Ossipee, NH a son Timothy Prescott and his wife Denise and his two grandchildren, Eric (9) and Ryan (3) of Methuen, MA. He also leaves his brother Ernest Prescott and his wife Rena of Colorado Springs, CO; his brother Byron Pres- cott and his wife Judy of Natick, MA; his sister Beverly Pellegrino of Waltham, MA and his brother James Prescott, Newton, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur Prescott of Billings, Montana and his wife Jane. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chickville Cemetery, Center Ossipee, NH. Donations in his memory may be made to the either the American Diabetes Foundation of the American Kidney Foundation.
