Wayne Sears Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 11, 2018.
Wayne Sears April 26, 1945 - January 7, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Sears. Wayne passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 7 in St. Albert at 72 years of age.

Wayne was predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph Antoine Sears and Gladys Elizabeth Sears (nee Lineker). His sister Verna, brother-in-law Ken and brother Gary.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Connie (Terry), Byron (Jerri), Vanessa (Chris) and Nita (Kirby); grandchildren Kayla (Brad), Jordan, Cody, Damian, Kaden, Rayfe and Tarynn; siblings Gwen, Ron, Glen (Lorraine), Allan (Colleen) and Linda (Henry) as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Wayne was born and grew up in Edmonton. His career in the oilfield led him to travel the world and to live in Singapore and Thailand for over 25 years, where he met and married his second wife, Wasana. Wayne often reminisced his love for the hot climates and spicy ethnic cuisines overseas.

In keeping with Wayne's wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place and a private gathering of friends and family will be held on January 13.

Wayne and I grew up together in Edmonton, many years ago. He and Gary were partners in mischief making, with me at their side. The last 10 years we saw one another on many occasions. He was very generous with his love of family. I will miss him greatly and will always remember him. Terry Lineker

I have so very many memories of my Dad! I am so glad that I was able to visit with him at the hospital and over the phone before he passed away! We shared many memories together during our conversations and I was able to reconnect with him ...and I will miss him.

Dear Wayne
You were a big part of my life in the last 15 or so years. You contacted me out of the blue, and remained my friend, and Lafe's, ever since. Your love and support sustained me in tough times, and you were always so hospitable whenever and wherever I came to visit you (and Nu) whether on the way to work in northern B.C., or in Thailand. You will be missed by so many, including those you mentored and helped back in Thailand. You never had a lot, because you always helped those in need. I will not easily forget you. Love, Patricia
