Wendell Vaxter Lowman

Mr. Wendell Vaxter Lowman, 84, of Connelly Springs, went to his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Wendell was born on August 18, 1935 in Burke County to the late John Lewis Lowman and Bessie Lowman. He was a retired upholsterer in the furniture industry and attended Connelly Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Wendell loved working in his garden and watching the race. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nethel Icard and great-grandson, Ryder Brieno. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Buchanan Lowman; children, Vanessa Heavner and husband Ivey Lee, Wendy Lowman and wife Tina, Roxanne Davis and husband Rick, and Crystal Causby and husband Bryan; grandchildren, Terra Brieno, Amy Clontz, Aaron Causby, Nathan Lowman, Joshua Davis, and Jonathan Lowman; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Clontz, Jay Brieno, Elisha Causby, Easton Clontz, and Ada Brieno. Also surviving are sisters, Louise Craig, Brenda Hudson, Peggy Jane Clark, and Sondra Lowman; brothers, Johnny Lowman, and Elbert Lowman; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Connelly Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Causby, Pastor Rick Davis, and Rev. Nathan Lowman officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
