Wesley Jarrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 4 to Feb. 6, 2011.
Jarrell, Wesley, R Passed away peacefully on February 2, 2011. Loving husband and bff of Terry Carr, beloved father of Michael, Ben,and Jakob; the treasures of his life. Kind and giving son of Reverend Thomas and Jeanette Jarrell, brother of Rebecca Scherr, Shirley Druse, and Patricia Roemer. Beloved Uncle of Christopher (Laura), Cassandra Scherr, Kennedy, Trent, and Trevin Carr, and Jessie and Will Roemer. Dear son-in-law of Betty Carr, brother-in-law of Ted (Kristin) Carr and Jeffery Scherr, nephew of Patricia Hemmelgarn, in addition, to being remembered by many wonderful cousins, friends and colleagues. Wes graduated from UW-Eau Claire and was employed at Norris Center for twenty-two years. He had a quick smile and the ability to make others feel at ease. Wes fought the battle of his life against kidney cancer for the last year and a half. Even then he remained dedicated to his family and faith while maintaining his passion for life. Although our hearts are breaking, we are thankful for the memories of Wes that we will always cherish. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Rodriques, the Vince Lombardi staff, adjunct physicians, and the amazing nurses at Aurora Summit for helping us through this horrific illness of cancer. A celebration of Wes's life will begin with visitation from 3:30 PM until the time of service at 6:30 PM on Monday, February 7, at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 642 Main St., Pewaukee, WI 53072. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jarrell Boys Education Fund, the Kidney Cancer Association-Research Division or Gethsemane UMC. GO PACK GO! Wes, it is hard to believe it has been 13 years since you left us. You are still missed. Hardly a day goes by that I don't think of you and all we did together. And more important, I think of the things left undone. Miss you my friend.

The staff at the Racine County Detention Center was very sad to hear the news of Wes' s passing. Wes had been coming to our facility to interview prospective clients for the Norris Center for years. He was upbeat and always had a smile on his face. The staff only had short visits with Wes when he was here but it was always a pleasure to talk with him. Wes will surely be missed. May God bless Wes's wife, sons, and family.

Dear Terry,

I just read about Wes' passing. Although I didn't know your husband well, whenever I saw him he always had a smile on his face. He seemed genuinely happy. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you and your sons.

You're now at peaceful rest,

He took the very best.
