It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Westley Johnson. He went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the young age of 36, at his home in Trinity, Texas.
Westley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ambrose Wilson Johnson Sr. and Ebbie Irene Johnson, and maternal Grandfather Mason Lee Lindsey. He is survived by his maternal grandmother Elayne Ernst Stewart, parents Ambrose Wilson Johnson Jr. and Natalie Lindsey Johnson, three sisters Jennifer Renee Espinoza, Kristen Ann Schone and Kimberly Irene Self, and his three beautiful children Hayden Ambrose Johnson, Ashlyn Labove Johnson and Landon Labove Johnson. Westley also had 7 nieces and nephews that adored him.
Westley was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on February 22, 1986. He lived in Corpus Christi for the majority of his childhood and also lived in Kingwood, Texas. For the last few years of his life he lived in Trinity, Texas with his parents and his children. Westley had said many times that his only purpose in life was his children and they were the legacy he would leave behind.
Westley is known for his huge heart, jovial laugh, and goofy personality. He truly would go to the ends of the earth to help anyone in need. He loved sports, especially baseball, fishing, writing and singing country music, and playing his guitar. But, above all, he loved and cherished spending time with his children.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 12:00 P.M., in Trinity, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Westley's name to https://liveinmyshoes.org/

I knew Westly through my son Seffen Savarino. He was a good friend to him and came to our home many times through their high school and college years. He was was always so polite and sweet to everyone he met. RIP Westley and it's not goodbye it's see ya later!!

Wes was a dear friend of our grandson, Jon Vorndran so it is through that relationdhip that we met. Wes was precious to us. When Hurricane Ike fid all that wind damage in Kingwood, gasoline was not available anywhere. Wes came to vheck on us snd then drove miles to get gasoline and bring it back to us. When Hayden was little, Wes brought him by our house to show him off in his Halloween costume. Wes worked for us at our office for s short time., which really cemented our relationship. Wes was a handsome, talented guy with a huge heart! We will miss him.

From the brief time Wes touched my life I can always look back on many fond memories of us growing up from kids to adults. He was always full of laughter, good times, and there to help a friend or neighbor. I enjoyed playing the guitar with him. He was always there to watch over and protect his friends in middle school, high school, and college. I have much respect for Wes and I am deeply saddened by the loss of a vibrant soul. To the Johnson family, I am sorry for your loss, if there is anything you need, let us know. Know that Wes and your family are in our prayers.

Wes was always easy to be around and he had a kind heart and especially had a soft spot for children. I know that man loved to fish! When I'd go over to the Johnson's house and Wes was around, he was usually on the dock with a line in the water and his kiddos trailing somewhere behind him. That image of him will stand out in my memory for years to come. He came by his playfulness and joking around naturally and I know he will be missed.
Rest easy Wes and maybe play a chord or two for God in your spare time now! We will have some laughs again one day.

Wes had a huge heart with so much love to share. I saw the love that he had for his mom and his children in the way he interacted with them and his lighthearted playfulness. Every time I saw him he was so friendly, yet a little shy, but made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. He visited the residents at the assisted living home a few times and played his guitar and sang for them. I was amazed at not only how well he played but at what a great voice he had. The residents thoroughly enjoyed it every time and we’re so thankful for him to take his time to play for them.
Natalie I can only imagine the heartache and loss that you, Ambrose, his sisters and his babies are feeling right now. I pray for God to wrap his loving arms around you all, and give you strength and comfort in this time of sorrow. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Cathy & Shannon Baker

Wes, you were always so nice to me. You taught me a few chords on the guitar that I still play today and think of you when I play them. You played video games with me and protected me like an honorary brother. I will always have happy and fond childhood memories with you. It's been a long long time since we've seen each other but I know we will meet up again on the other side. I'm so sorry I can't be at your funeral, Wes but just know that you and your beautiful family are in my heart and my prayers.
