Whitney Fordham-Plantilla Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 31, 2024.
Whitney Katherine Fordham-Plantilla, a remarkable soul born on February 18, 1977, left this world on January 19, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and children, Ethan and Emerson Plantilla, as well as her fiancee, Kim Smith. She was the daughter of Sandra Fordham and David Bonito, with Patricia Bonito as her loving stepmother. Whitney was a beloved sister to Heather Wayland, Jennifer Nania, Deanna Troila, and Joseph Troila. She was a cherished niece, aunt, and friend to many at home and abroad.

Whitney faced life with unparalleled resilience, but sadly succumbed to a severe lung infection, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Whitney was an USAF Veteran, a gifted and dedicated therapist, a fierce advocate for social justice and equity, and above all, a loving mother to her beloved Ethan and Emerson, the brightest stars in her sky.

Whitney was a beacon of warmth, a source of joy, and a loving presence that touched the hearts of all fortunate enough to know her. Her vibrant spirit infused every room with a sense of comfort and camaraderie. Whether sharing laughter with friends or offering a comforting ear to those in need, Whitney's capacity for love was boundless. Her impact extended beyond the personal realm, reaching into the wider world in her advocacy, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Whitney's legacy is one of genuine kindness, infectious joy, and a profound ability to make those around her feel truly valued. She will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude by the countless lives she brightened with her warmth and love.

A celebration of life will be held on her birthday, February 18th, from 2-5 pm at The Parrot Restaurant in Hull, Massachusetts.

We met as kids, had so much fun. Jumping at the Quarries, which scared the heck out of us. Hanging in Quincy and Brockton. Dancing the night away. Watching your little brother and sister. Named my Girl DeAnna. You will be gratefully missed. You will forever be missed by so many. Your laugh and smile was infectious, everyone loved you wherever we went. Rest in the sweetest peace my dear friend. God gained a special angel

Whit was a loving, kind and empathetic soul, and one heckuva great human being. We got to know each other in our MSW program, and stayed in touch on social media, where her posts were always guaranteed to cause a good laugh. My condolences to Whit's friends, families and all who loved her. She was an awesome human, and she will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I met whit in MI when she travelled here a few years ago. We kept in contact thru social media after that. She spoke so highly of her kids, and family. My condolences to all of you, she was a special soul.

I will forever treasure my memories of your being part of the Sean and Seanette´s group. You were always more than a student... you had that great ability to both be a colleague and student from the beginning of my interactions with you. Mutual respect and admiration. Rest easy my friend. Love to your beloved children and fiancé.

Whitney and I worked together at Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgium. She would always bring a smile and laugh each day and just made being around her fun. She was an enduring soul, and will be greatly missed
