Wilber Manske Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 23 to Jun. 30, 2008.
A memorial service for Wilber L. Manske of rural Greenwood was held June 19 at Lincoln Berean Church. Manske, 75, died Saturday, June 14.

Born in rural Ceresco to Ernest and Clara Manske, he was a life long area farmer. He was also a retired steel slitter for Valmont Industries and former tank wagon driver for the Waverly Farmers Coop. He was also a member of North Pointe Community Church.

Manske was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his family, friends and his Lord. He will be remembered not only for his strength and faithfulness, but also for his courage in facing a disease that took him from us before he left this earth.

Family members include wife of 54 years, Marilyn; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Gerald Gillman of Omaha and Linda and Wes Winter of rural Lincoln; three grandchildren, Logan, Karlee and Luke Winter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin and Esther Manske and Marvin and Janean Manske, all of Ceresco; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Ted Kroese and Ilene and Marvin Docter, all of Firth; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Jerrie Gerdts of Palm Harbor, FL; sister-in-law, Patricia Mingle of Garland, TX, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents.

Pastor Dick LeBlanc officiated at the service. Private interment was held before the service. Memorials are to North Pointe Community Church, P. O. Box 29555, Lincoln, NE 68529 or Madonna Foundation.

Marilynn, Kathy & Linda, I'm sorry Wilber passed away, especially the day before Father's Day! He was a very nice uncle to me, Terri, Randy, Steve & Marla and we will always remember him. We are thinking of all 3 of you and your families and the fun times we all had when we were kids during the holidays. Love, Tammi
