Wilfred Powell Obituary
He was born on October 1,1936 to Joe and Lenora Powell in Bixby Oklahoma.
WJ attended Mission High school and graduated in 1959.
He married Patsy Ruth on December 8,1989 and lived in Rockwall for a number of years where he worked as an electrician and served as fire chief for the town of Heath. After retiring WJ and Pat traveled before moving to the small south Texas town of Tarpley. While living there he volunteered as a fireman. He enjoyed dancing the night away with his wife at the Tarpley gatherings, traveling around to Patsy Cline shows, and riding horses. Eventually they moved back to Point where he loved working outdoors on his tractor.
WJ is survived by his wife Pat, brother Loyd Powell and wife Allie of Canyon Lake, step daughters Debbie Winkle and husband Jerry of Grand Saline, Darlene Biggs and husband Robert of Purmela, Shirley Norton and husband Larry of Lone Oak, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Lenora Powell, step daughter Sherry Wise, granddaughter Miranda Wright.
Memorial service will be Saturday December 14, 2:00 pm at Clarks Chapel Church Point,Texas
