I just enjoyed reading Heather Langley's post. What a wonderful birthday gift that you have enjoyed and cherished all these years. Willa was an extraordinary lady and more importantly to me a dear friend. I am fortunate to have a signed print as well as other gifts from her over the years. My husband and I commissioned Willa to do a painting for our niece of her prized horse Mystic. Willa sent us constant updates during the process to br certain that she was getting the personality right. I dearly miss my friend.

I am sorry to learn of your amazing artist's passing! I am was born in Richmond and my grandparents lived there after my family moved to NC. Once a month, my grandmother, an artist who at 56 years graduated from VCU with an Art History degree would take me and my mom to the Virginia Arts Museum. On one of these trips, I fell in love with this painting and my grandmother bought it as a birthday gift! It's dated '82 and I was a teenager at the time. Here I am now, 60 years old and this treasure is one of very few that has moved with me through many homes in several states. "He's" now going to hang in my art studio in my forever home now. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy this stunning creation for over 40 years and for the rest of my lifetime to come. With love and light
