William K. Bowers

NORTH AURORA - William K. Bowers, age 64, passed away on July 17, 2022, in North Aurora, IL. He was born on July 5, 1958, in Chicago, IL to the late John W. Bowers and Adrienne L. Bowers (Knoll). He was known by his family as Bill or "UB" after the movie Uncle Buck.

Bill graduated from Oliver Wendall Holmes School in Oak Park and attended Oak Park River Forest High School. He went on to work as a machinist at his father's company, Bowers Mfg., Co. in Addison, IL. He dedicated his career to the family business.

In his free time, Bill had a passion for fishing and referred to himself as the "Bass Master," and took great comfort & solace on the water. His favorite fishing spots included Hayward, Wisconsin, and locally at Jericho Lake in Aurora, IL. He was also an excellent cook and constantly watched cooking shows and shared his recipes with family. He also was a skilled handyman and enjoyed helping his sisters & friends with various projects, from fixing and repairing to painting and remodeling.

Bill is survived by his sisters: Carin Larsen (Jeff Lair), Lauren Engel (Rick), and Cheryl Manno (Joe). Children: William Bowers, Jr., Steven Buchholz (Katie), and Lisa Albright (Matt). Grandchildren: Aubree, Emma, Zach, and Alexa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas A. Bowers.

Services for William K. Bowers were completed by DuPage Cremations, Ltd & Memorial Chapel in West Chicago, IL. Contributions in his memory still be made to the Reel Freedom Anglers Plainfield Fishing Club, NFP.
