My sympathy to your family on your great loss. Willard and I taught gun safety classes together. There are many young people that because of Willard will have a safer hunting experience and long remember who taught them safety first.

To the entire Bartos Clan:

As one of Andrea's college roommates, I had the great fortune of spending bits of time with Willard and Rita, who always made me feel welcome. Willard's joke-telling sprees were such a part of that: it was easy to see how much he enjoyed bringing laughter to the lives of others. The light that he brought to the world while he was here continues to shine through each of you! May God, and your memories of Willard, give you strength during this difficult time. Hugs and Prayers, kirstin

Rita and family,

I am deeply saddened to see the passing of Will. The first time I met Will was at Mike and Lisa's wedding. The following summer I went to England, every time I saw Will after that trip, he continued to ask “if I learned to speak English yet.” It became a normal greeting.

I feel honored to have known Will and saddened to see him go with his sense of humor. I know he (and Grandma Rita) was influential to Blake and Brad. I hope they remember what a good man their Grandpa Will was and remember that a good sense of humor can bring happiness amongst their family and friends. God Bless everyone.

I felt so fortunate to have had Mr. Bartos as a teacher in the fifth grade and when he was moved to the sixth grade teaching position the following year, I was lucky enough to have been placed in his class for that year as well. He was a wonderful teacher with a gift for making learning fun. I have fond memories of the stories and jokes that he always had on hand for his students. My thoughts are with you.

Rita,Yvonne,

I can only tell you what a great influence Mr. Bartos was as a teacher. He went beyond the standard and really treated the students as individuals. Being a high school friend of Yvonne, I could see the love and respect he had from his family. My deepest condolences to your family.

Dear Rita and Family,

You were the "Best" neighbors in Brooklyn Center. We were lucky to live next door to you.

Our children recall fond memories of Bill.

Lee and I recall all the times Bill was there to chat with us. And we always heard a new joke...every day!!

Love,

Lee and Linda

I knew Willie and his brother, Rynie since childhood. I also knew him at St. Cloud State 1949-53. He was a very clever, witty guy who always had everyone laughing. I am sorry that he is gone. He was certainly one of a kind. My best wishes and condolences to Rita and the Bartos family.

Andrea & family,

My deepest sympathy is with you. Through Andrea's descriptions, I was able to get a glimpse of what a wonderful man Will must have been. I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I pray you find solace in knowing he will always be with you and that the world is a better place for having had him in it. My thoughts and prayers remain with you.

Dear Roxanne and family,

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy at the loss of your father. Mr. Bartos was my fifth grade teacher many years ago and remains to this day my favorite teacher. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have been in his class learned so much more than the basic curriculum - we learned respect, tolerance and humor by his example. And we are better people because of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our prayers go out to the Bartos family. My brothers and myself attended Earle Brown Elementary where we first met Mr. Bartos. Will was a wonderful person, always so positive with every student he met. Always encouraged us to work harder and set goals. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with him again when I came back to Earle Brown to work in the office. Then to my surprise, after working at Lutheran Brotherhood now Thrivent Financial for several years, I find out Roxanne whom I currently work with is Will's daughter! So I know I will have the opportunity to enjoy fond memories of Will through Roxanne. What a wonderful family. God Bless you all.

Love, Lonnie & Chuck Sievert (Dehn)and family.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am a friend of Andrea in Rochester and just wish to add my condolences. Andrea is a very special woman and I am sure her father had much to do with that. I hope God is with you all. I hope you find strength in each other and eventually a sense of peace.

Dear Andrea & family,

My family would like to express our condolences with the loss of your father and husband. Andrea cared for our daughter, Carson, for many months. We always knew that her light and compassion came from somewhere special... her mother and father. He must have been a terrific man. Our prayers ~

I was so sorry to hear of Will's passing. He was a special person in my life. Bothmy brother, Steve, and I had Will as our 5th grade teacher. We loved him, especially his sense of humor. Then, when I started teaching at Earle Brown in 1970, he was one of the first people to welcome me on staff and support me. We taught together for about 20 years before his retirement. He will be missed by many.
