I’ve know Willard since 1st grade. He was quite colorful even in elementary school we went skating together and to Tillis Park. He always had the best colors not just the primary colors Willard had fluorescent colors. That’s exactly what Willard was a fluorescent light for all he knew and loved.
Love ya Willard.

I first met Willard when I started at Northside High School. I remember thinking wow this guy is energetic.
I had no idea at the time he would become one of my oldest, truest & dearest friends.
Over the last 40 years Willard has always been a constant in my life.
Enthusiastic and engaging with those he cared for. Which was most everyone.
Helpful with people no matter whether it was good, bad or ugly.
He always showed kindness and tolerance.
His grace towards others was above reproach.
He would shoulder the problems of others because he truly cared about helping those around him.
I was always amazed at the amount of understanding he had with his friends and acquaintances.
There are a lot of lives that he impacted his kindness and sincerity.
He was a Friend to count on.
He was a Brother to rely on.
He was a Wingman to confide in.
He was constant.
God Bless & God Speed

The first time I met Willard was in college. We were at a party (go figure) and he came up to me and said "I think we're related!" Then in true Willard fashion, he proceeded to tell me all about our family tree and how I was related to him. :)) We were distant as family, but closer as friends.
The thing I'll remember most about Willard is that he always had a smile...I mean a BIG smile...on his face. And that laugh! And how he was just there for you, you know? Whenever you needed him, he was just always there for you.
I'm going to miss him.

I remember when I first met Willard, I was in the 9th grade and he was in the 7th at Darby Junior high. Rose Ulrich and I were teaching choir on teachers appreciation day. Willard was a little pest but he became a real good friend whom I kept in contact with over the years. I will forever cherish the hand stitched Northside shirts he made me, and yes we tried to outdo each other at the football games. I'm going to miss the calls back and forth to say hi, check how we doing and those call for no reason at all. To know Willard was to love him and I will always have a special place in my heart for him. Family know he loved you dearly and talked about you all the time. So rest in peace my dear friend you will truly be missed by me.
