William Baker Obituary

William L. Baker Jr., 58, of Kokomo, was welcomed into Heaven at 11:25 P.M. Monday, August 20, 2012. Born December 28, 1953 in Kokomo, he is the son of the late William L. Baker and Patricia Sue (Morris) Baker. On November 18, 1972 in Kokomo, he married Julie A. Dungan. He was employed by Delphi Automotive as an electrician and a maintenance supervisor for over 35 years, retiring in 2009. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed motorcycling, scuba diving, hunting and the outdoors. He was an active member of the Howard County Izaak Walton League, where he enjoyed managing the sporting clays course during retirement. Bill is survived by his wife Julie A. Baker of Kokomo; his mother Patricia of Paoli, IN; two sons William L. (Jennifer) Baker III of Indianapolis, Brian R. (Misty) Baker of Kirkland, WA; three sisters Jill Dowden of Palatka, FL, Sherry (Robert) Bagley of Palm Coast, FL, Barbara (Mark) Carillon of Orange Park, FL; one brother Karey L. (Megan) Baker of Paoli, IN and 7 grandchildren. In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by one grandchild. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, August 26 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo. Services will be 11:00 A.M Monday at the mortuary. Pastor Chuck Griffith will officiate; Brad Lindemann will deliver the eulogy. Private burial of cremains will take place at a later date in Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo. Memorials may be directed to the Howard County Izaak Walton League, with envelopes available at the mortuary.
