William Edward Barton 1956- William Edward (Bill) Barton of Seffner, FL, passed away on November 13, 2025. He was born in Middlesboro, KY, on August 19, 1956, son of the late Ruby Spangler Barton and Edward Barton, Sr. Along with his siblings, Bill was baptized on Easter Sunday 1957 and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Middlesboro. A 1980 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Bill soon after joined the Tampa Electric Company, where he spent the entirety of his long career as a transmission engineer. Bill was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and steadfast Kentucky Wildcats fan. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His greatest joy in life was being a father to his four wonderful children.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; special aunt and uncle, Betty and Harold Barton; his brother Edward "Bee" Barton, Jr; his mother-in-law, Alice Rogers; father-in-law, Jess Rogers, and stepmother-in-law, Mary; brother-in-law, Jesse Rogers III; and his beloved son, Kelly Barton.

Bill is survived by his wife of 24 years, Eva J Barton; three daughters, Sammi Barton Lenz, Ashley Barton, and Kaitlyn Ruby Barton; sons-in-law Joey Lenz and Emerson Prosser; and grandchildren Gray Ruby Prosser and Barrett William Lenz. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Barton Danek and her husband, Jimmy; sisters-in-law Janis Barton, Cheryl Rogers, and Evon (Corey) Gomis; the cousin he loved as a sister, Billie Barton Barnwell; and a host of nieces & nephews including Amy Barton Smith, Jami Barton Johnson, Dana Danek, Cody English, Logan English, Stephanie McCarthy (Joe), Kristen McCarthy, William McCarthy, Jesse Rogers IV (Deanne), Jerry Rogers (Jodie), Melissa Goff (Aaron), William Jones, Corey Gomis Jr (Lexi), Alice Gomis, and Chandler Gomis. Bill is also survived by several great friends: Paul Folse, Philip Marshal, Mike Schnell, Mike Leahy, Rondy Moore, and Jim Sumrall.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network)), or your local pet rescue group.
