William Earl "Will" Betsch

William Earl Betsch, known to many as Will, passed away on June 17, 2023, in Miami, Florida, at the age of 85. He was born on May 27, 1939, in West Orange, New Jersey. He was an Art History professor at the University of Miami for four decades, a Classicist, a scholar in the truest sense. He was an advocate for individualism and the human spirit. Material things meant very little to Will; thoughts and books, works of art and the ideas they contain were what mattered most to him for the simple reason that they represent all that is best and bright in the human imagination. Though a year has passed, he remains missed and loved in equal measure.
