William (Bill) Neff III

On August 14th, Bill lost his year-long battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. Bill was born on July 3rd, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and had lived in the Pacific Northwest for the past 50 years.

A graduate of Columbia University, Bill served in the U.S. Navy briefly, receiving an honorary discharge with a conscientious objector status. He then volunteered, along with his wife, in the United States Peace Corps, and served for 2 years in Dahomey, West Africa (now Benin).

After leaving the Peace Corps, Bill attended the University of Washington, where he earned his Master's Degree in Social Work. He worked in Child Protective Services, later moving on to work for the majority of his life in sales with Prudential.

Bill loved music, singing Baritone in the Columbia Men's Choir, and later in Vancouver Singers for many years. He later sang in Touch of Class, also in Vancouver.

Bill loved camping, traveling, and gardening, and had a beautiful rose garden. During the Pandemic he took up painting, and showed considerable talent!

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kristen Neff, his children, Wendy Enden and Justin Neff, his daughter-in-law Kimberly Neff, and two grandchildren, Camden and Colbie Neff. He has extended family still living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, including two brothers, Jonathan Neff and David Neff.

As he moved to be closer to family during his last year, a small family celebration of life was held in August. Donations to the American Cancer Society would hopefully help others in the future.
