MILLBURY William U. Braney, 72, of 7001 142nd Ave. North, Largo, Florida, died Sunday in the Morton Plante Hospital, Clearwater, Florida.

He leaves his wife, Janett M. (Oliver) Braney; a brother, James Braney of Uxbridge; three sisters, Barbara F. Blavackas, Alice Nordstrom and Kathleen Ledoux all of Millbury; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a sister, Joan M. Brady. He was born in Worcester, son of Urban L. and Elizabeth (Smith) Braney and has lived in Florida for many years.

Mr. Braney was a welder for Pratt & Whitney and for Lusignan Brothers, before he retired. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney V.F.W. Post, the Dudley-Grendon American Legion Post, in Sutton and the Disabled American Veterans Post # 116, in Whitinsville.

His funeral will be held Friday, May 7th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. MarkTM)s Church, 356 Boston Rd., Sutton. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 6th, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name for heart research to Morton Plant Mease Foundation, 1200 Druid Rd., South Clearwater, Fl. 33756.
