How can 17 years go by so fast? I began reading the messages belong and saw one that said exactly what I wanted to say. At the bottom I saw my name. Yes he was the best. We l
oved and respected both Mr. and Mrs. Breda. They were the best for us young dears. Girls and boys. And we wanted to be the best for them.

To The Breda Family:
I met Coach Breda and Mrs. Breda in Mid-September, 1964. I transferred from Xavier Prep in New Orleans. I spoke to him and said,"I need to play football for Scotlandville Sr. High School." His reply."OK Boy, are you any good"? The Coach was my Mentor and a True friend.
I was a successful member of his LIALO Football Team from 64-65 and 65-66.
I demonstrated my ability and made the first string offensive and defensive teams.
Please, see this web site: www.africanamericanhighschoolsinlouisianabefroe1970.com.
Go to East Baton Rouge Parish Scotlandville Sr. high School and click on the Coaches Corner, There, you will see my thoughts on The Coach with photos on the site ,too. Also, review the entire site for your enjoyment.
RIP Coach.
Respectfully,
Dr. Kirk M. Clayton,Ph.D. Ed.D.

Dear Mrs. Breda,

I am so sorry about the death of our beloved teacher and principal. He represents the best we knew of our high school days. I recall so many "fights" and "issues". But he made me produce the best I had to offer. I could go all over the world and meet any challenge presented to me because of what I learned under Mr. Breda. I am indeed sadden by his death and hope that you, your son and other members of the family know how much he was admired and appreciated for those long years at Scotlandville. My sincere regards,

Gammiel Gray Poindexter, Class of 1961.
