To the Brown Family;
We are deeply saddened by Deacon Brown's passing. Deacon Brown touched the life and soul of my 10 year old daughter, Sabrina, on many, many occasions. She adored him and admired him for all he offered in a spiritual sense as well as the wonderful reminder of the gentle presence of Gods love. He will be missed by us more then these words can possibly display.

Dear Pat and Family;
To say that we were shocked when we heard about Bill would be putting it mildly. We will never forget the kindess that Bill showed us. In many was Bill exemplified what it means to be not only a good Christian but also a good and caring human being.
Bill helped nudge Di and I to reflect on numerous things while he was the Deacon at St. Barts. We will forever be gratefull for all that he has done for us.

To the family of Bill, my deepest sympahy. We first met at St Bartholomew's. I was a parishner and follow worker when Bill and I became friends. Then I moved on to St James, where my roots of my childhood began. One day we met again and I was glad he was at St James. I feel as though I have let Bill down since I'm the Building & Ground Chairman and the church resident Architect. Bill was asking for railings to be placed in the church for easier access due to his limited abilities. After speaking to Monsignor the other day, we agreed to continue his request and a piece of Bill will always be a part of the church not only in spirit but helping others as he did. Again my regrets to you all.

Pat - Carol and I send our love and sympathy to you & your son during this difficult time. I have many happy memories of Bill at CML as he went about doing life brokerage business at DISA. His dedicated service to the life insurance industry is evidenced by his presidency of the local CLU Chapter.

There are no words to express the sorrow and deep sense of loss that I feel personally with the death of Bill. Bill was an exemplary man and deacon. His contributions to the deacon community of the Archdiocese of Hartford and the national community of deacons was immense. His earthly presence will be sorely missed and I know he will pray for all of us as we continue our earthly journey to the Lord.

When I first came to lector at St. James, Deacon Bill, with the sparkle of the spirit in his eye, suggested that I try to sing the Alleluia at my first 730 am mass. So, I obliged only later to learn that was a special request from him and not the norm. Now, his gentle nudge has led to not one but two fully recruited choir members. May this short smiling memory give you some peace in this difficult time.

Pat - When I heard the news about Bill my first thoughts were of his warm voice. And I remembered the times the three of us spent together in NYC and Hartford when Bill would read from the menus of the wonderful restaurants you both treated me to. Good company, good conversation. These are great memories. We'll be with you Wednesday evening to begin to say our goodyes to Bill. Love, Justine
