William Terry Bruton

Bruton, William Terry William Terry Bruton, 76, of Marietta, GA, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2023, at home with his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Candy, at his side.

Born on November 21, 1946. in Atlanta, GA Terry was the son of William Clifford "Red" and Emma Kathleen "Kitty" Bruton. Eight years later, he was joined by his sister, Vickie Lynn. He attended Campbell High School in Smyrna, GA, and Gordon Military College in Barnesville, GA, where he developed his love for playing football and flying. After college he joined the Air Force Reserves before becoming a commercial pilot. He married Delta flight attendant, Candace McClellan in 1974, sharing his love of flight, and together they raised 3 children: Taylor, Chase, and Tanner.

With a young family, Terry started a manufacturer's rep firm focused on the aerospace industry and grew the successful business for over 40 years, using his humble and genuine personality to make a positive, professional impact on both customers and the companies he represented. He built a business that allowed him the freedom to give time to his children's activities, support his wife's career and education, and be present wherever he was.

When he wasn't working, Terry spent his time enjoying the company of others, attending Georgia Tech and Falcons games, playing golf, traveling the world with family and friends, and making anyone he encountered, especially his two grandchildren, laugh.

Terry will be deeply missed by his wife, sister, children, grandchildren, and many friends and colleagues. His kind heart, quick humor, and generous spirit will be remembered by all that were fortunate enough to know him.

A celebration of life to honor Terry will be held at Olde Towne Athletic Club in Marietta on May 13, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Terry by doing an unexpected act of kindness.
