Mr. Bullard retired from Bullard's Food Service Inc., which he founded in 1979 and was owner up until its sale in 2005. He spent most of his working life in the food service business. He was in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962, where he was stationed in Pensacola, Fla., aboard the aircraft carrier USS Antietam. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at the Seymour Country Club. He was a member of American Legion Post 89 and also was a member of Harrison Lake Country Club and Blue Water Bay Golf Resort in Niceville, Fla. He loved to work in his yard and be around his family. He could fix anything. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour.
Born Dec. 31, 1939, in Hayden, he was the son of Virginia Brewer and Joseph Dee Bullard, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 23, 1959, he married Bonnie Lee McCulley Bullard, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Michelle Bullard; four sons, Mike (Barb) Bullard, William Lee Bullard, Shannon (Susie) Bullard and Tracy (Julie) Bullard; eight granddaughters, Casey Bullard, Whitney Bullard, Chelsea Bullard, Jordan Bullard, MacKenzie Bullard, Sydney Bullard, Ellen Bullard and Taylor Bullard; three sisters, Nancy (Bill) Hundley, Robin (Tim) Toppe and Carol Cannon; brothers, Jim (Elaine) Bullard, Tom (Jerretta) Bullard and Dennis (Sandy) Bullard, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Bullard.
The Rev. Jon Carlstrom will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Korean and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center, or Central Christian Church of Seymour.
