William Burrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 10, 2025.
William "Bill" Burrell passed away peacefully at Brandley House in Ocala, Florida on March 1, 2025, at age 88.

He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 25, 1936 to Alvie (Johnson) and Troy Burrell, Sr. He attended Miami, Florida High School, and joined the Air Force at age 20. He was proud to serve his country as an Airman 1st Class stationed at McGuire Air Base in New Jersey.

At a USO sponsored dance, Bill met Mary-Alice Belton, whom he would marry in 1961. They had two daughters, Dr. Cindy (Anderson) of Texas, and Cheryl Burrell of Ocala. After leaving the Air Force he was employed as a Credit Manager for Westinghouse (later White-Westinghouse, then Frigidaire), where he worked until he retired. When they opened new branches in other states, Bill was often asked to relocate and head up the new credit department.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed golf, especially golfing tournaments with his daughter Cheryl, as well as going on cruises with his family. He was a member of West United Methodist Church of Ocala. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Neota (Astling) and Barbara (Bussard). He is survived by his daughters, his granddaughter Victoria, his brother Troy, along with several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews.
