William Caroulis Obituary

Published by The Daily Times from Feb. 9 to Feb. 16, 2023.
William "Bill" J. Caroulis - Born on February 1, 1961 in Pennsylvania, the Lord called him home on January 15, 2023 after a struggle with kidney disease. He was a long-term resident of Huntington Beach, California. He was 61. As a senior at Upper Darby High School (class of 1979), he was captain of the football team, played catcher on the baseball team, and a National Merit Scholar. After a few years of college, Bill headed west in the summer of 1981 to hang out at his brother's Venice Beach, CA apartment, and quickly decided to make the move permanent. He was graduated from California State University at Northridge, and earned Bachelor's Degrees in Music and Accounting. He passed the CPA Exam. He had an affable personality and a great sense of humor. He had many good close friends. Bill was the youngest of three children of James and Anna Caroulis. He is survived by brothers Steve and Jon, niece and Goddaughter Devon, great nephews Weston and Alexander, stepson Gary Mendez, and many dear cousins. He had great joy in performing with his rock group "The Durty Watur Band" throughout Southern California. He was an accomplished guitarist over multiple genres. A requirement of his music degree was a recital in classical guitar. He also played the piano. Billy, we didn't get enough of you. You are greatly missed. Rest in sweet peace brother, you will be in our hearts and thoughts always. In late February a Celebration of Life is planned in Orange County, CA and a Prayer Service is planned at St. Katherine's Orthodox in Redondo Beach, CA. Phone (805) 308-3638 for details. A Celebration of Life is contemplated for January, 2024 in Pennsylvania.

Dear Family and Friends,

We all were deeply saddened by the passing of Bill. Losing someone we love is never easy, and words may not fully capture the depth of sorrow we feel.

Cousin Billy was a remarkable person, and I will always remember the warmth and kindness that radiated him.

Let's continue to hold onto the memories we shared and the impact he had on our lives. His strength during his health challenges was truly admirable, and it serves as a testament to his resilience and courage.

With love,
Cousin Jeanne
