William D. Celli, 79, of Ford City, formerly of Rices Landing, died at 3 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014, in his home.
He was born April 16, 1935, in Carmichaels, a son of the late Tony and Margery J. Dowlin Celli.
Mr. Celli was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and served in the U.S. Army.
He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a foreman, working on many locks and dams in the four-state area.
Mr. Celli was a former member of American Legion Post 816, Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Company and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rices Landing, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed auto and motorcycle mechanical and paint work.
On April 26, 1998, he married Carolynne Lewis Reich, who died March 22, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Anthony J. Celli of Waynesburg; a daughter, Lisa A. Celli of Waynesburg; two stepdaughters, Sandra Reich of Ford City and Amanda Reich Riskosky of Kittanning; a stepgrandchild, Kiefer Riskosky; a sister, Dolly Dolansky of Rices Landing; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his second wife and parents, are the mother of his children, Mary Jane Celli, and his brother-in-law, Bernie Dolansky.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Thursday, August 21, in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, with the Rev. John M. Bauer officiating. Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491, Carmichaels, will accord military honors immediately following the blessing service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
