Diane, "My" Bill & I are richer for having you & "Your" Bill in our life. We're happy to have the memory of his last days reaching out in friendship to celebrate my birthday and also to help with my medical issue. He will live on in our hearts. We love you Diane. Joni & Bill

Bill was a leader in the laboratory, highly respected, and a personal friend. I am saddened to learn of his death. It was a loss for Asheville when he retired to California. My sincere condolences to Diane, Eva and the family.

Over the past 10 years, we shared travels on Vancouver Island, Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico. We got to share many months together with our loving wives, Diane and Colleen, and fun times with friends at home and away. Our explorations and hikes in Canada included some of the best beaches and trails on Vancouver Island including Pacific Rim National Park, Botanical Beach, the giant trees of Carmanah. In the US, we wandered and wondered at great scenery and geology to and from Joshua Tree, the Salton Sea, The Petrified Forest, Los Alamos and Santa Fe. Our road trips to Temecula and Coronado Island, the Mojave, volcanoes, and Sedona were great times and life memorable. In addition to, hikes and explorations we made many tasty and special meals, shared more than a modicum of good wines, games, light laughter, profound reflections, deep emotional feelings, intellectual curiosity and 2 solar eclipses. Bill was a great friend, a stellar human being and his spirit and sense of fairness and love will always hold a dear place in my heart and mind to the end of my own days. Norman and I loved Bill. He was so kind and I enjoyed conversations with him about so many things. We´re so thankful we were able to meet both of you one final time for breakfast while he was still himself. He will always be in our memories. The world needs more men like Bill. I will miss him terribly
