LAS VEGAS - William "Willie" Clark, 53, left us to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2007.
He was born Dec. 15, 1953, in Springfield, the son of Robert and Wanda Clark.
Willie is survived by his wife, Sherry; their five children, Rusty (Susie), Rob (Rachelle), Joe (Joanna), Heather (Trevor) Little and James (Courtney); nine dearly-loved grandchildren; his mother; brothers, Gary "Pete" (Karen) Clark, Darrin (Mitzie) Elliott; and sister, Candice (Eric) Woodruff.
Proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971 to 1979, he received an honorable discharge as staff sergeant while always remaining "loyal to the Corps." He truly believed "once a Marine, always a Marine."
Willie's education included a degree in industrial technology from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois.
Willie served the past two years as generation executive for Sierra Pacific Resources in Las Vegas, with responsibility for nine generation facilities throughout the state of Nevada, in addition to leading numerous support functions for the corporation.
For the family, friends and co-workers who knew Willie - as a husband, father, son, brother, friend, mentor and Marine - this was Willie's life. He left a huge footprint on this earth and a great legacy. Willie Clark was larger than life and he will be painfully missed; however we all rejoice that he is pain-free and walking with his Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be at Palm Mortuary Northwest in Las Vegas at noon Saturday, June 16, 2007, with visitation on Friday, June 15, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Compassion International or MD Anderson Cancer Center.

I remember meeting him once many many years ago when he first came back to this area. I know he will be very much missed by all of his surviving family and friends. Sherry, I was at your wedding...what a day! Remember the applause! After a hot pursuit by Willie, he finally caught you. So sorry to hear of his passing. So nice to know he enjoyed life fully. Take care and remember, "Time and love will see you by his side again".

Hey Pete;
I'll leave it up to you to pass on all the messages & memories that your family & I have had in days gone bye.
I don't want to get real fixed up in things we did in the past, but one thing I will always remember is the Ag classes we had w/ Pete Cahill & the English classes w/ Ms. Reichmam! All of us (even Houser & Steve Hughes & Poco Rhule) had a good time while still trying learning a little something!!
When Willie tried to invent & build some sort of 4WD (in Ag class)contraption ,everybody laughed!! But Willie believed it would work, & it did, not well, but it did!!
God bless his expectations, I wish now I would have jumped on the welding table & learned a little from him!!
Candy, You know where we stand! If ya can survive any kinda life after the realm of the St. George, your a better person for it !!
Darren, I don't know ya that well, but keep on keeping on !!!
That's' all I've got to say for now!!
God Bless & if ya need anything, let me know!!!

We are members of the Northwest Christian Church family in Decatur. Unfortunately we joined the Church about the time Willie & Sherry moved to Houston so we never had the chance to get to know them in person. We have heard so many good things about the Clark family from our friends. We did get to know Heather when she came back to NWCC a few years ago.
It's so amazing....the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away....just as the Clark family says goodbye to one loved one, they welcome a new life....welcome Asher Raif Little, Willie's newest grandson. May the joy that Asher brings to the family help to ease the pain of loosing Willie.

Sherry and Family:
I grew up with Willie in Standard City. We were classmates and good friends. I'm so sorry for your loss. I pray God lays His hands on you and gives you strength and comfort during this very difficult time. Knowing Willie is no longer in pain hopefully helps a little. The last time I talked to Willie which was several years ago when he was visiting in Carlinville he talked about his family and how proud he was of all of you. Again you have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Clark family members, I am Pam, Courtney's aunt here in Houston. It was a pleasure to meet Willie when she and James were married. I know from everything that I've heard, that he truely was a kind and loving man who will be deeply missed. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this time. With all our love, Pam, Garry, Garrett & Madison Lewandowski
