I loved working with Bill on the Afternoon Edition in the mid 80s. I learned a lot from him,had a great time talking off air with him. He made working at CKUA fun. Miss you Bill. - Terry Beeler

Bill & I have been good friends since High School. We both went into radio after the U of A and kept in touch over the years. I'm going to miss him. He was a great broadcaster.

CKUA means a lot to me. People who don't listen don't get it, but when I moved to Alberta and began to listen in 1977, CKUA opened up a whole new world of cultural awareness for me. Bill Coull was the epitome of this enlightenment - he was incredibly knowledgeable about music and on-air was as smooth as a gravy sandwich. What a voice! It was pure pleasure to listen to him.

I spent today with all my wonderful memories of our neighborhood, when us kids were growing up. You always made me smile Mr Coull. Seems like it was just yesterday. Your family is always in my thoughts, and i grieve with you. Love you all.

I was very sad to hear of Bills passing. He was in an aquasize class I taught at grand trunk years ago. Always a good sport..took the good natured ribbing from all the ladies in the pool. A very nice man..always made us laugh. My deepest condolences to Bills family.

with shock and dismay, we read this morning of the passing of the other " great white hunter". Please be sure that our love and our prayers are with you all. As we recalled many episodes of laughter, and many times of tears, we reflected on how our lives have changed, and how different we all are now. We send you all our love and our deepest sympathy,,he will be greatly missed. Remember, as you look through your albums, and recall all the fantastic camping trips (remember those Rose ?) ,and all the fun you had with him, remember, his smile , his laugh and his quirky sense of humor ,are no longer here, so each of you has to supply a little more of each ,every day! unfortunately, we have a family commitment , which requires us to leave Ed monton tomorrow morning and the soonest we could return would be late Sunday night, so we will not be able to attend either service. Please be assured that our thoughts will be with you. Love, the Walter Balay family
