William (David) Zerby

William David Zerby III, 82, of Lanesville, Indiana entered his eternal home of heaven on April 13, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1942, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to William D. Zerby II and Louise Lowry Zerby.

At age 11, David moved to New Jersey and attended Midland Park Schools. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania and later pursued business courses in colleges in New Jersey and North Carolina. Over the years, he worked for several large department store chains before becoming a consultant for AT&T.

David married Barbara Bosland, whom he met in elementary school. They celebrated 61 years of marriage on August 24, 2024.

Besides his loving wife, David is survived by three sons: William David Zerby IV (JoAnn), James Taylor Zerby and Robert Edward Zerby. Three grandchildren: Jacob (Emily), Jeremiah (Shawna), and Zachary (Emily). One great-grandchild: Raven and her mother Claire. One brother: Adam (Kris) and nephew Zachary.

In the 1970s, David had a born again experience that led him to study the Bible deeply. He completed Bible College, was ordained, and served as Associate Pastor at three Assembly of God churches over two decades. He also went on several mission trips and was involved with prison ministry in New Jersey and Indiana after relocating there in 2010.

David was also a special police officer, EMT leader, Boy Scout leader, and chaplain at Bergen County Jail in New Jersey and Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

A memorial service will be held at First Capital Christian Church, 305 Oliver Street, Corydon, Indiana, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
