William E. Deeley of Wheaton A funeral Mass for William E. Deeley, 83, formerly of Oak Brook for 36 years, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Ascension of Our Lord Church, Oakbrook Terrace. Born Aug. 6, 1919, in Oak Park, he died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Delnor Hospital, St. Charles. Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside. William was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a graduate of DePaul University. He was a founding member, and the first commissioner of, the Westchester Park District, as well as an usher for, and founding member of, the Ascension of Our Lord Church. William was also a member of the Serra Club of DuPage, and a 40-year vice-president of Shearson-Lehman Brothers/American Express. He was the husband of the late Maureen Deeley (nee Collins); the father of Nancy Deeley-Earley (John Welling) of St. Charles and Peggy (James) Corcoran of Baltimore; the grandfather of Richard P. (Monica) Earley, William M. Earley, Erin M. Corcoran, Seamus P. Corcoran and Meghan K. Corcoran; the great-grandfather of Teagan and Quinlan Earley; and the brother of Bernice Timms, Elaine Clarke and Jerry Deeley. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the Hursen Funeral Home, at the southwest corner of Roosevelt and Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Michael Church Building Fund, 315 W. Illinois St., Wheaton, IL 60187.
