92, passed away January 19, 2016 at home in Fayetteville, NC surrounded by family. Bill was born August 1, 1923 in Dan, Kentucky where he grew up on a tobacco farm before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1943, serving his country during World War II as a Pharmacist Mate 3rd class. Upon completion of his service, he attended Western States College earning the degree Doctorate of Chiropractic. He practiced privately in Louisville Kentucky where he was also active in the Masonic Lodge obtaining the rank of 32nd degree Master Mason and met his wife of 47 years before moving and retiring in Pinellas Park, Florida. Bill was the founder and creator of Valley of Gold line of natural and homeopathic medicines. He was loved and admired by all who knew him as being a true southern gentleman. He is survived by his daughter, Leesa Davis (Gerald Beatty) and son Alan Fields both of North Carolina; daughter Connie Vargas (James) and son Ken Murphy (Cheryl West) of Florida, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Coreen Fields and their fur-baby Gidget, 4 sisters, a grandson and 405,000 of his comrades in arms from World War II. A special note of thanks to those who provided loving care for him in his final years: Lauren and Jermel Brunson, Justin Davis, Margo Peterkin, Kenny Beatty, and Shanika Brunson. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Garden of Memories Cenetery in Tampa, on Friday January 29, 2016 at 1 pm, all are welcome to attend.
