PIQUA – William E. "Bill" Firestone, age 77, of Piqua, died Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 4:57 a.m. at his residence. He was born Dec. 28, 1939, to the late Eugene and Katherine (Nonamaker) Firestone in Ada. He married Kay (Crose) Firestone on Jan. 10, 1987, in Piqua, and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Rick (Rachel) Firestone of Tennessee; a daughter, Julie Lowe of Covington; six grandchildren, Leanna, Megan, Morgan, Logan, Eugene and Christian; and two great-grandchildren; one sister Patricia Mader and one brother Max Merritt.
He was preceded in death by a twin sister in infancy, and a daughter Carol Firestone in 2011.
Mr. Firestone was a custodian with Piqua City Schools for 25 years. His previous employment includes Miller-Meteor and Allen-A. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Oder of the Eagles in Piqua for 25 years. He was also a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, until his health would no longer allow him to attend.
In his younger years, he liked to spend time fishing and camping at Lake Loramie. He was a Boy Scout leader for several years and took great pride in his leadership role. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he will be deeply missed.
A service to honor his life will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Ellis officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Humane Society, 1190 N. County Road 25-A, Troy, OH 45373.

Bill was an honorable and caring individual. I was privileged to work with him at PHS and always enjoyed his pleasant conversation and diligent work. I will miss his smile. My condolences go out to the family. He will be a welcomed addition to heaven. Mr. Josefovsky
