WILLIAM FOSTER Obituary

FOSTER WILLIAM L., Jr.
Passed away on January 18, 2016, age 91, at the H.J. Heinz VA Center, after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Foster was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Stunder); and his sister, Jean Jenkins of California. He is survived by his son, William III and his wife, Janice (Roper) of Anita, PA. He had three grandchildren, Wm. Michael of San Diego, CA, David L. of Portland, OR and Justine M. (Derek) Toven of Anita, PA. Mr. Foster, at his request, bequeathed his body to the furtherance of science. As such, a memorial gathering has been planned in his honor. Family and friends are asked to gather at the American Legion Post # 760, 2409 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, PA from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Any acts of remembrance may be directed to the veterans organization of your choice in the name of William L. Foster, Jr.

Bill and my Dad were in the 78th Lightning division....both lived in Baldwin Twp and didn't meet until recent years ! He was a pleasure to talk with. My sympathy on his passing Rest in Peace

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing, he was a good neighbor & friend for many years, I will miss trading Army stories with Bill. Bill was one of the few surviving members of World War Two left in Baldwin Township, we have lost a true patriot and he will be truly missed.
