William Freund Obituary
Born: Nov. 20, 1941
Died: July 5, 2014; in McHenry
William Freund, age 72, of McHenry, passed away July 5, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 20, 1941, the son of Walter and Ann (Meyers) Freund. He married Kathleen "Katie" Goulding on August 4, 1973 at St. Johns in Johnsburg. After working hard for over 45 years, he was able to relax and enjoy his two great loves, his family and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed watching Cubs games and visiting national parks in the west. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed immensely.
He is survived by his wife, Katie; his children, Dan (Jennifer) Freund of South Beloit, Matt (Tammera) Freund of Woodstock, Mandy Freund of Portland, OR., and Justin (Genevieve) Freund of Richmond; six grandchildren, Justin, Oliver, Ashley, Abby, Reese, Merrick; 2 brothers, Ron (Joanne) Freund and Jerry (Ann) Freund; two sisters, Judi (Wade) Clement and Debbie (Rick) Strom; his mother-in-law, Betty Goulding.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his father-in-law, Geoffrey Goulding.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home and Crematory, 591 Ridgeview Dr., McHenry. Following the visitation the reception will be held at 31 North Banquet 17 N. Front St., McHenry. Interment will be private.
In honor of William, the family encourages you to wear Packers attire or green and yellow to the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yellow Stone Park foundation, 222 E. Main St. Suite 301, Bozeman, MT. 59715.

I am so sad to hear of Bill leaving us. Even tho' I have not seen him the last years, we had great times as teens and young adults with the Freund guys. My heart goes out to all of his family. If I could have attended his celebration of life tonight, I would have been proud to year his Packers colors.

Freund Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember all the fun times we had with the kids growing up when you lived across the street all those years. What I remember most about Bill is his laughter and how his entire face lit up when he laughed, which he did often. He was a great person and will be missed by everyone who's lives he touched.
The coaching and help given in soccer, baseball, all the things our kids shared in. He was always there and with the best attitude possible.
